I can’t give up the fight. My sister, Cindy was a believer in winning, and in living, and I was always one of her biggest cheerleaders. I have never stopped being amazed by her attitude and drive to find a cure. Not just for herself but for all women, including our sisters, aunts, cousins, mothers and friends! She was a huge advocate for Susan G. Komen, she went on many speaking events for them, and participated in many panels. All the while she was undergoing Chemo and suffering side effects which made it difficult for her to brush her teeth, put socks on, and even walk because her hands and feet were hurting so bad. I mention all this because this is the reason I support Susan G Komen and will Co-Chair the Houston Race for a Cure. I will advocate, raise funds and walk/run along with hundreds of Women, Men, Families of Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Aunts, Fathers, Sons, Brothers, and Uncles. We will do this because of the support we receive and the joy of knowing we are saving lives by increasing awareness and research.
I hope that you will find it in your heart to support me by making a donation. My goal is to raise $5000.00 for the Komen Organization in memory of Cindy and her devotion to this organization that she believed in and supported. I will carry the flag of awareness and spread the word, Because it’s time to go beyond breast cancer awareness. It’s time to take action!
So many of us are touched on a daily basis by cancer, Imagine how wonderful it would be would be if so many would not have to suffer. I am of course asking for donations to support us in these efforts. If you can’t make a donation, please keep us in your prayers for a safe journey, and pray that patients like Cindy can continue to get treatments, testing and research.
