Is the registration fee changing?
Yes. Before midnight June 30, participants can take advantage of our Early Bird rate and register for only $30. On July 1, registration will be $45 until midnight, October 2, 2021.

The registration fee helps offset the costs of conducting the event. You must register to receive an official event T-shirt as well as other new items to be used during the opening ceremony.

Do my team members have to register?
Their registration gives them access to the multiple fundraising channels and connects them to the community of participants and fundraisers all working toward the goal of ending breast cancer forever.

Can donations made to a team be split or shared among team members?
We are unable to split or transfer donations between individual and team accounts.

Do you require fundraising?
We do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. This event is about going from awareness to taking action in this community. Just imagine the impact – if every participant raises only $100 (in addition to their registration fee), we will bring in an additional $200,000 to support treatment and educational patient support programs in our community! If every participant raises more than $100 imagine the impact we can make to support treatment and educational in our community!

Are patients, survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer expected to fundraise?
Just like our other participants, we encourage every participant to fundraise and have an opportunity to earn fundraising recognition items for their efforts! We find that survivors, those living with metastatic breast cancer and others that have a deeply personal connection to the cause are the most powerful and passionate fundraisers.

How is the money used? Why is fundraising important?
Read about how we put your fundraising dollars to work in Where the Money Goes.

Isn’t my registration fee a donation?
No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.

Does the money raised benefit people in our community?
Funds raised by the Komen Race for the Cure series supports Komen’s mission to save lives and end breast cancer through breakthrough research and ensuring all people receive the care they need. Through your support, our neighbors will benefit from research discoveries, public policy advocacy and direct patient support services.
